Unless you are truly impaired in some way by your age, then you’re not too old. The idea that you have to start playing music when you are very young is simply a myth. There have been scientific studies done that indicate people can successfully learn to play music later in life.
Is there research to show that younger people may learn things faster? Yes, there is. But that certainly doesn’t mean that those above 40, 50, 60 or even older can’t learn.
Many of our students are over 50 and having a blast learning to play the drums.

The idea that only people with some sort of natural gift can learn to play the drums (or any instrument) is another myth that science has disproven. There are several books that address this including The Talent Code by Daniel Coyle and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.
